Workspace in Adobe Animate for 2D animation _ Animate Part 1

Adobe Animate  is a multimedia authoring and computer animation program developed by Adobe Systems. Animate is used to design vector graphics and animation for television programsonline videowebsitesweb applicationsrich internet applications, and video games. The program also offers support for raster graphicsrich text, audio and video embedding, and ActionScript scripting.

Animation is the movement, or change, of objects through time. Animation can be as simple as moving a box across the Stage from one frame to the next. It can also be much more complex.

 Welcome Screen

The first thing that you see is the welcome screen. This screen can be considered as the launching point of your program. Using this screen, you can Open a document, Open a recent item, Create new documents.

Animate Interface

On starting the Animate program, you are given access to various windows that include



1.     Menu Bar

2.     Tool Box

3.     Timeline

4.     Title Bar

5.     Stage

6.     Panels

7.     Property Inspector

 

Creating a New Document

A file in Animate is referred to as a document. These documents have the .fla extension and contain all the information required to develop, design, and test interactive content.

To convert a document into a movie file, you must publish it as a Flash movie, in other words save the file with a .swf extension.

All Animate documents are based on the scripting languages. Its called platformer type. You can either use ActionScript 2.0 or ActionScript 3.0. At present we are using AS3.

You can give FPS and Document Size also.

After Blank Document you can edit in Property Inspector. Here you can change FPS rate, Stage Colour , type of publish , and Size.

Sometimes you can use Document setting panel also


Tool Box

 The tools in the toolbox are used to create objects, and to paint or modify them. You can also change the view of the stage. The Toolbox is on the left hand side of screen, but you can drag it anywhere on the screen.

The Toolbox is divided broadly into four sections, which are as follows:

·        Drawing

·        View

·        Colors

·        Rigg 

Options Each tool performs a unique task and has different properties. 

Working with Timeline Panel

 

In the Timeline panel we can make new layers, creating new Folders, we can delete unwanted layers / folders. It shows the frame. Frame using for animation duration. It's based on FPS Rate.


Types of Frames

Frame are 3 types

·        Blank Key frame

·        Key frame

·        Frame


·        Black Key frame means its empty fame, its indication for an empty stage.

·        Key frame using for animation purposes. It shows source and destination areas.

·        Frame using for in between areas for key frames.
